Aquila Clean Energy Spain searches for an electrical engineer to give technical support regarding the high voltage infrastructure of evacuation of utility scale solar PV and wind farms for the company's portfolio in Spain.

The engineer will work in the Engineering Department, giving support to other internal departments throughout all the phases of a project lifecycle, mainly M&A, development, procurement and construction.

For our office in Madrid we are looking for a Power Lines & Substations Engineer:

Your responsibilities

Review and propose improvements in third party technical basic and detailed designs and specifications.
Responsible of the engineering related to low and high voltage of PV plants, substations and power lines.
Revision of specifications and basic design of substations (up to 400 kV) and power lines (aerial and underground, up to 400 kV) for tender process of its EPC and for administrative and environmental permitting.
These SE and lines can be private from Aquila or shared with other developers.
Work closely with the Procurement department for transformers purchase and EPC contracts, namely by preparing the RFP's technical specifications and drawings, answer questions from bidders and compare technical offers.
Revise and optimize specifications of power transformers up to 400 kV.
Elaborate dimensioning of SE and power lines for greenfield development.
Support Procurement Team with CAPEX estimative of SE and lines.
Support to Project Development team in general technical aspects such as evaluate the feasibility of MV/HV Lines and Substations.
Evaluation of technical offers and close contact with suppliers.
Support Engineering team in national grid code compliance.
Support PV engineering in site survey studies outsourcing and general project technical documentation.

Your qualifications

Higher degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
Knowledge of the Spanish technical regulation for electric installations.
At least 3 years of experience with high voltage engineering.
Knowledge and experience in PV or Wind projects will be considered a plus.
AutoCAD and Power Factory/Digsilent.
High level of English is mandatory.
