Position Summary


R&D Information Technology (IT) is the stream in Nestlé IT in charge of powering the R&D function with IT capabilities to drive company growth through breakthrough research than can be translated quickly into products and services.

Digital technologies are triggering a crucial, comprehensive transformation of R&D organizations, and Nestlé is no exception. It is not only about adopting digital tools, but is a fundamental shift in the operating model for R&D.

For this reason, Nestlé R&D has developed a strategy to leverage digital to accelerate time to value, protect the core and unlock new opportunities, for example, by leveraging consumer insights to drive innovation and renovation.


As a Sr Project Manager for R&D IT, you will drive the deployment and delivery of digital business capabilities ("IT products") following the digital strategy of Nestlé R&D.

In some cases, you will also participate in the Design and Build phase of these products in alignment with the R&D IT Product Manager in charge.


You will manage the deployment and delivery of digital products based on the scope and duration, and ensure they deliver expected value to R&D on time, quality, scope, and budget.


You will structure the project/program charter and plan, execute, monitor, and control it, and finally close it; all the while adhering to established Project Management methodologies.


You will control the development progress versus project plan; identify and analyze risk management issues and devise plans to minimize risks.


You will lead the project teams and be the person that project resources report directly to for the execution of the project tasks they are allocated.

You will be the main counterpart for the global business and the markets stakeholders during all phases of the project.


You will coordinate and work closely with the teams (internal or external) allocated to the project (on-shore, near shore, off-shore), defining main guidelines and motivating internal and external resources to accomplish all targets and milestones.

For this reason, it's important to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively.


To achieve the above, you will collaborate deeply with R&D stakeholders, the R&D IT Product Manager in charge of the specific area of the projects you lead - e.g., Nutrition, Sustainability or Food Safety - and the R&D IT Portfolio Architect team for Data & Analytics related projects, such as leveraging consumer insights and artificial intelligence in the Innovation & Renovation of the Nestlé portfolio to get even better foods and beverages to market, faster and more sustainably.

You will also work with other parts of the Nestlé IT organization, such as Analytics, Data and Integration (e.g., SAP recipe management), Technical and Production (e.g., trial management) or Marketing, Sales and eBusiness (e.g., consumer Internet of Things).

A day in the life of...

  • Define and ensure strong Project/Program Governance. Define the project in an adequate project charter to align on scope, timeline, quality, budget and acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
  • Ensure all projects are consistent with overall IS/IT customer objectives and strategic plans
  • Identify internal and external resource needs and manage assigned resources.
  • Manage roles and responsibilities and establish the governance and communication plan, ensuring adequate communication to identified stakeholders
  • Manage the daytoday activities of crossfunctional project teams and ensure the adherence to the project plan
  • Manage the stakeholder engagement through development and maintenance of strong working relationships with all key stakeholders including, Client Executives, Product Managers, and Resource Allocation Managers, Local IT/IS infrastructure owners and Product.
  • Ensure the quality of Project Manager deliverables, by ensuring the respect of Project Management best practices. Identify risks and propose mitigating actions; Raise and resolve project issues
  • Followup the Key Performance Indicators for each project and consolidate Program level reporting. Produce timely, detailed summaries and highlevel reports
  • Manage Project changes effectively: Works to control change, adjusts the budget, timeline, and project scope to accommodates approved changes
  • Track project/program benefit realization based on business case

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably computer science or field related to IT
  • Demonstrated experience in IT project management, ideally in a productbased IT organization
  • Thought leadership in IT to discuss technology roadmaps with R&D stakeholders, and
