Role Purpose:

Vehicle brake testing and R90 homologation for EMEA Aftermarket

Key Responsibilities:

To perform vehicle brake testing and friction material proving in accordance with the Vehicle Test Manager and / or customer written test schedule or procedures
To perform ECE R90 homologation vehicle brake testing in accordance with legal requirements
To install test vehicle instrumentation
To maintain / repair all aspects of the suspension, braking and instrumentation components on the test vehicle
To perform measurement of brake components for test and evaluation purposes
To fit brake components and setup test vehicles in accordance with written test schedules or procedures
To maintain a current and detailed working knowledge of the specialist vehicle data acquisition systems employed within the Vehicle Test Facility
To provide support for the test vehicle fleet preventative maintenance / servicing activities
To perform test vehicle calibration procedures to ensure test data integrity and tractability in satisfaction of ISO9001 / QS9000 requirements
The jobholder is often required to travel off site in the UK (& potentially overseas), and to work alone, to carry out any of the above tasks. This work is often conducted in a customer or authority witnessed environment

Required Experience:

Essential

City & Guilds motor vehicle qualification or equivalent;
NVQ level 2 Motor Vehicle;
Two to three years responsible experience in a similar role
Additional specialist brake test training is a plus
