The incorporation of the selected person would be made to the Hydrogen and Power-to-X department of the research center.

Develop an attractive research agenda in the field of LCA and techno-economic analysis

Open source LCA modeling of energy storage and hydrogen technologies, linked to renewables

Integration of LCA with the modeling of energy systems

Use of data monitored in pilot plants for sustainability indicators

Provide recommendations to decision makers based on modeling results

Collaborations with experimental researchers from CIIAE and other research centers

Acquisition of competitive funding, both private and public, for example, PhD students and postdocs.

Successful collaboration with universities, research institutes and companies nationally and internationally

Successful mentoring of PhD, Post-Doc and Masters students, i.e. meeting their own requirements

Writing the publication as first author (for example, 1 article per year in a high-ranking journal)

Project management and project administration (internal and external), also towards the department and CIIAE

Among the main scientific challenges are a large number of available technologies, actors, eg households and industry, as well as intrinsic uncertainty that makes LCA and techno-economic models complex.

There is also a lot of data generated, making the evaluation of important results to provide policy recommendations a challenge.

Requisitos

The selected person is required to have:

Doctorate in one of the following specialties: Chemical Engineer, CC. Chemistry, Industrial Engineering or equivalent, Physics, Natural Sciences, Industrial Ecology, Environmental Sciences or similar
Postdoctoral experience of at least 2 years
LCA projects and/or technoeconomic analysis for a minimum of 2 years
Participation in at least 4 European projects (H2020, FP7, etc.) or equivalent, or experience in an equivalent private company
Excellent analytical skills and experience in LCA (OpenLCA, Brightway 2, SimaPro, Ecoinvent, etc.). But the work will be mainly on open source Brightway
Experience in technoeconomic analysis (eg LCOE) and circular economy
Previous experience with the Input-Output method
Statistical skills, for example, statistical tests and regression
Experience programming in a general purpose language (any language, but the work will be mainly in Python and Matlab)
Minimum participation in 4 research projects, European, national or business
Excellent oral and written English skills
Ability to lead a team towards funding and goals
Commitment to open science in terms of research methods, data and publications
Proven experience with industry collaborations and/or previous experience working in the industry
Experience in collaboration with other colleagues from the same department and external
Communication skills
At least 10 publications in journals indexed in Scopus.
