Project Manager

Liver Diseases Research Group and Molecular Medical Imaging Group
VHIR offers a vacant position for a
Project Manager within the Liver Diseases Research and Molecular
Medical Imaging Groups; with specific focus in managing projects related to Metabolic dysfunction-associated
steatohepatitis (MASH), within the framework of the AcceleRating the Translation of virtual twins towards a
pErsonalised management of fatty liver Patients (ARTEMIS) Horizon Europe Project.

Education and qualifications:


Required:
-

University Degree within Life Sciences

  • A PhD will be valued
  • Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (business level)

Desired:
-

Specific/Additional training in Project Management and/or Liver Diseases.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience and knowledge:


Required:
-

At least 2 years of experience working in research institutions in European project management related activities,
in scientific and clinical environments.

  • Previous experience in the coordination of European projects will be highly considered.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in Spanish and English. Catalan is also desired.

Main responsibilities and duties:

Medical Imaging Group, supporting the activities of the groups in relation to the strategic project ARTEMIS (Translation
of virtual twins towards a pErsonalised management of fatty lIver Patients), within a consortium of 18 international
partners. The project is funded by the Horizon Europe initiative, with a total budget of 9M.

The ARTEMIS project aims to consolidate existing computational mechanistic and machine-learning models at different
scales to deliver "virtual twins" embedded in a clinical decision support system (CDSS). The CDSS will provide clinically
meaningful information to clinicians, for a more personalized management of the whole spectrum of Metabolic Associated
Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD). The ARTEMIs will contribute to the earlier management of MAFLD patients, by prognosing
the development of more advanced forms of the disease and cardiovascular comorbidities, promoting active surveillance
of patients at risk. The system will predict the impact of novel drug treatments or procedures, or simply better life habits.
The system will therefore not only serve as a clinical decision aid tool, but also as an educational tool for patients, to
promote better nutritional and lifestyle behaviors.
